Facial Aesthetic Procedures

The main treatments offered are wrinkle reduction injections, Botox® and Dermal fillers. All treatments are carried out by Dr Crowfoot herself.

Botox® is a prescription only medication which can only be prescribed by qualified and registered doctors. Having said that it is extremely safe and has been used for a number of medical treatments for over 20 years all over the world. Current uses are for muscle spasticity mainly in children, chronic migraine and excessive sweating (Axillary Hyperhidrosis)

Dermal fillers mimic the bodies own natural proteins. These proteins contribute to the texture, volume and elasticity of our skin by attracting and retaining water. As we get older these levels subside . At Stratford skincare we use the Hyaluronic acid based products (Juvederm & Restylane), which again have been used for many years and have superceded the older more permanent collagen based fillers.

Anti–Wrinkle Injections

Facial creases and wrinkles form in response to the repeated pull of facial muscles in a particular manner. Botox® prevents the muscles from contracting, thereby eliminating the cause of the lines allowing the skin to recover and soften. Usually patients have a number of these injections over a year or two , which prevents the lines from coming back. Persistent lines and creases can then be eliminated with dermal fillers.

The wrinkle relaxing injections are given to target specific muscles , thereby still allowing natural range of facial expression.

The upper third of the face responds extremely well to treatment with Botox® and hence injections are most effective to the forehead frown area (glabellar).

The injections take 5- 10 minutes to perform, the injection starts to take effect after 3 to 4 days with optimal effects taking up to 2 weeks.

Treatment costs £200 - £320

Dermal Fillers

For wrinkles and creases on the lower face and well established lines on the upper face, filler injections usually give superior cosmetic results.

Dermal fillers mimic the bodies own natural proteins. These proteins contribute to the texture, volume and elasticity of our skin by attracting and retaining water. As we get older these levels subside in areas of most use.

Replacement of these proteins (collagen and Hyaluronic acid) injected under the skin can smooth out lines, folds and hollows and even enhance the definition of the lip shape. These injections are very compatible with our own body tissues and they remain safely within the skin before eventually being broken down by our bodies. Therefore, re-treatment is required after around 6-12 months to maintain a visibly younger appearance.

The procedure takes approx 20 mins, local anesthetic cream can be used and the result is immediate.

Treatment costs start at £250
